An Evening of Poetry

Two established veterans of contemporary English poetry, Tom Raworth and Robert Sheppard, read from their latest collections. Nibbles and wine included.

This event kicks off a weekend of poetry, which features poets from around the country as well as students, and
graduates, from the University of Bedfordshire Creating Writing course.

A Poem in between People

Musa Okwonga of PiP brings you storming stories and free copies of PiP's new EP.  Followed by an open mic session.

Musa Okwonga is a member of Poem in between People (PiP), a group of poets who have performed acapella, with live musicians and with DJs at a range of venues, including the Scala, Kentish Town Forum, 93 Feet East, and the Tate Modern; and a range of festivals, including Latitude, Glastonbury and the Edinburgh Fringe.  PiP were described on National Poetry Day in The Times as "London's top new spoken-word talent"; they consist of four poets, being Joshua Idehen, Musa Okwonga, Inua Ellams and Catherine Martindale aka Poeticat, and are found at www.myspace.com/apoeminbetweenpeople.  Their new EP, "Very Little Fish", has been played by Rob da Bank of Radio One, and John Kennedy of Xfm.
